Rasheed Sulaimon Dismissed From Duke's Basketball Program

Jan 29, 2015 5:42 PM

Rasheed Sulaimon was dismissed from Duke's basketball program on Thursday. The Houston native had not previously been disciplined, at least publicly, all season.

"Rasheed has been unable to consistently live up to the standards required to be a member of our program," Mike Krzyzewski said in a release. "It is a privilege to represent Duke University and with that privilege comes the responsibility to conduct oneself in a certain manner. After Rasheed repeatedly struggled to meet the necessary obligations, it became apparent that it was time to dismiss him from the program."

Last season the coaching staff talked to Sulaimon about his body language when things didn't go his way.

Sulaimon appeared in all 20 games this season and averaged 7.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
